Are You Heart Healthy? Say Yes with CAMMPUS! - HP171

Are You Heart Healthy? Say Yes with CAMMPUS and take a free cardiovascular risk assessment!

Everyone in Canada is affected by cardiovascular disease, including us here at UBC. Cardiovascular disease affects the heart and blood vessels, and results in heart attacks, strokes (in the brain) and angina (chest pain). More than 1.4 million Canadians have cardiovascular disease, and every 7 minutes in Canada someone dies from a heart attack or stroke. (Statistics Canada, 2011).

The good news is that most people can reduce their risk of cardiovascular disease, heart attack and stroke through awareness, knowledge and healthy choices.

Take Action with your Hearth Health

Starting in August 2015, UBC Health, Wellbeing and Benefits in the Department of Human Resources , in collaboration with the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, invite UBC faculty and staff extended health plan members from UBCs Point Grey campus, Robson Square and Hospital Locations to participate in a unique project called CAMMPUS (Cardiovascular Assessment and Medication Management by Pharmacists at the UBC Site). CAMMPUS features confidential, expertly guided services provided by the UBC Pharmacists Clinic (located at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Vancouver campus) to help you find out your current level of heart health (and cardiovascular disease risk) and take steps to keep this risk as low as possible.

To learn more about CAMMPUS, please join us for this short presentation and discussion

Participating in CAMMPUS is your chance to make long-lasting changes to your health and is available at no cost to you.
