Part 1 of Healthy UBC's Fall Stress Release Series with Dr. Thara Vayali

Stress is a loaded word, and decreasing it can feel like an unsurmountable task.

In this session, participants will:

  • Learn to define "stress" and learn about the body's natural and healthy response to stressors
  • Narrow in on the reasons and triggers for "stressed-out" response.
  • Understand the hormonal and nervous system effects of chronic stress on the body and mind.
  • Leave with three simple and attainable suggestions for how to clear out unnecessary stressors, and shift the nervous system's response to the inevitable stressors.
