Breast Cancer Prevention & Risk Management - HP200

This interactive educational session will provide participants with the latest research evidence regarding ways to reduce the risk of breast cancer through lifestyle modifications pertaining to alcohol intake, physical activity, nutrition, weight management, exposures, as well as myths and misconceptions in this area.

Since 2012, the Breast Cancer Prevention Clinic has been offering free Breast Cancer Prevention Risk Assessment and Education Sessions.


Facilitator: Bonnie McCoy is a Clinic Evaluation Assistant and Lifestyle Counsellor for the Breast Cancer Prevention and Risk Assessment Clinic. She has been assisting Dr. Gotay and the Cancer Prevention Centre team in developing, implementing, and evaluating the Breast Cancer Prevention & Risk Assessment Clinic since 2010. During July 2011, she attended the National Cancer Institute's Fellowship in Cancer Prevention Program in Rockville, Maryland.

Ms. McCoy completed her undergraduate and master's degrees at Simon Fraser University in kinesiology and gerontology. She is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist & Cancer Exercise Trainer and designs & implements exercise classes for older populations in Vancouver & Burnaby.
