Office Stretches & Workouts - HP202

We sit for hours at a time during the week. The time sitting adds up from work, home, commuting, and other sedentary activities. This takes a toll on the muscles and joints.

This interactive presentation will teach you a series of stretches and strengthening exercises that can be done at the office or while travelling and does not include any equipment. This makes them easy and convenient to do to increase activity and counter the specific problems that arise from excess sitting.

As it uses body weight and regular office furnishing (chair/desk/wall/floor), it is gentle enough for those who are inactive, and can be adjusted to be challenging enough for those who are physically active.

All staff and faculty of all fitness levels are welcome to attend this free session.

Participants will have a chance to:

  • Learn stretches and exercises that focus on countering chronic pain in common areas affected by posture, sitting, and office work: the neck, back, hips, legs, and wrists;
  • Review common equipment that can be an option for enhancing these exercises and stretches further; and
  • Be able to request help with specific situations and/or conditions you may have
