Understanding Mental Health Challenges - HP222

Understanding mental health challenges can be difficult. Learning how to interact with someone who might be in a mental health crisis can be even more challenging.

The goal of this session is to increase mental health literacy while providing tools and skills to respond effectively in a caring and respectful way. Participants will learn skills and knowledge to help better manage mental health problems in themselves, a family member, a friend or a colleague.

All staff, faculty, and postdoctoral fellows are welcome.

This session will be hosted in Vancouver, but will also be available at UBC Okanagan (RHS room 257) via videoconferencing. Registration in the Okanagan is also required here: https://hr.ok.ubc.ca/2019/04/16/understanding-mental-health-challenges/

This session will be facilitated by Miranda Massie, Health Promotion Specialist for staff and faculty in UBC's Human Resource Department.
